For us, it’s personal.
At SECTA, our size means we can offer something different – the personal touch. Our team may not be vast, but our knowledge and expertise rival some of the biggest consultancies on the planet. The difference is that when you choose us as your sustainability experts, you deal with us and only us. From first contact to final report – we’ll be with you every step of the way.
Daniel Montlake
“Having spent twenty-five years in the commercial property sector, I’ve seen widescale and fast-paced change in how we develop, build and maintain. Sustainability is now a key consideration, and legislation is moving at speed, so much so that it can be hard to keep up. SECTA aims to change that – giving you knowledge and understanding, cutting through bureaucracy and making the compliance process as streamlined as it possibly can be. Every service you need, under one roof.”
A chartered surveyor with over 25 years of commercial property experience across all property sectors and a broad knowledge of sustainability, energy-efficiency and risk compliance.
Daniel is a Level 5 EPC Assessor - the highest qualification of this type - and a Carbon Reporting Manager with the Chartered Management Institute. He has led multiple ESOS assessments for large UK companies saving them millions of pounds by reducing carbon emissions and operating costs and prides himself on both his extensive knowledge and attention to detail.
Career highlights include:
CEO of successful energy consultancy business, working with leading developers and managing large-scale, high-value projects.
Investment Partner at Savoy Stewart leading sales and acquisitions to the value of £100 million.
Published author on energy efficiency, speaker and co-author of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) guidance papers.
Oliver Eggenton
“Working across the property sector from estate agencies to property law, I’ve seen how hard it is to promote sustainability both inside companies and on developments. And with a background in net zero developments and climate change, I understand the risks we face, the devastating impact they will have, and how we should act to mitigate them. SECTA was established to help every organisation in the UK do the same. Not an easy task, but a worthwhile one.”
Oliver has been working in the property sector for the past decade. He has a wealth of experience in dealing with Energy and Sustainability Statements and Whole Life Cycle Carbon Assessments both in and outside of London Boroughs.
A Chartered Carbon Reporting Manager, Oliver has supported a range of clients in developing ESG strategies, ranging from SMEs to Brown-Green Pension Funds. With qualifications as a Domestic Energy Assessor, PAS2035 Retrofit Assessor and BREEAM NC Assessor, he is equipped to deal with all aspects of sustainability across the built environment and at an organisational level.
Career highlights include:
Developing Energy and Sustainability Statements and Whole Life Cycle Carbon Assessments on GLA referrable developments in London, with development use spanning hotels and estate regeneration.
Working with some of the largest Heritage Landlords in the UK to support delivering compliance with their ESG and Sustainability Requirements.
Developing and undertaking assessments on built assets for a Brown-Green Pension Fund with gross assets under management in excess of £500 million.
Producing SECR reports for organisations with offices across the globe.
How Two Became SECTA.
A chance meeting on a carbon reporting course was the start of things to come. Daniel and Oliver, although there for different reasons, soon realised that although their career paths were different, their ambitions and visions were completely aligned. Countless meetings and phone calls later and SECTA (which incidentally means a group of people with a common ethos) came to be.
Our Approach
Simple
Our vision is to provide a service that makes your transition toward sustainability, be it on developments, portfolios, or your business, simple. We offer a hand-held experience that is bespoke and practicable. No pie-in-the-sky thinking, no jargon. We cut through the noise, point you in the right direction, and then take you there.
Bespoke
This isn’t a one-size-fits-all operation. Before we work with any new or existing clients, we like to have several meetings to understand exactly what it is you want to achieve. It’s our job to provide you the infrastructure you need and the know-how to implement it.
Holistic
Whether you’re looking to move premises, buy a new site, or fit-out a new office, we provide feasible solutions that future-proof your interests and put you ahead of competitors. Sustainability is an organic evolution, not an overnight revolution. We give you more than a tick-box report because change is what we want to achieve.
What to expect
Expect a responsive, friendly, focused approach underpinned by a secure knowledge base. We will deliver on time and always aim to be flexible and contactable. Everything we do is founded on accuracy; sometimes we might take longer than expected, but every failed sustainability endeavour is normally built on bad data.
Shall we?
We want to work with like-minded people and organisations, no matter your requirement or size. And we like nothing more than to talk sustainability, so please get in touch for a no-obligation conversation.
